Triad is one of the best fansub groups out there, and it's certainly one of my favorites. Karaoke is NOT relevant, is just an extra that fansubbers may or may not put on their releases. I am also a fansubber, from a latinamerican group, but a fansubber nonetheless. Other than releases from my group, I only have english subbed anime, because I prefer it. I have seen those flashy karaokes that tries to hide translation flaws, editing issues, b0rked timing, shitty encoding and what have ya, mostly on spanish releases. Only a true moron would care about seeing, I dunno, something like words bursting onto flames in a karaoke, rather than an excelent translation, a superb editing, a proper timing and a nice encoding. i'm not saying I don't karaoke, because I do, but I most certainly couldn't care less if I release something without karaoke rather than releasing a half-translated, unedited, b0rked release. Needless to say I'm going to download Higurashi from you guys, I was expecting it. I don't care much for those other groups releasing it. Triad ftw. - ST. |

Now you just need to dump the silly kanji subs in the opening, and it will be perfect. This is a pet peeve of mine - if you can read kanji in time to music, you're not going to need them to understand the singing anyway. Even japanese subtitles that have kanji put in huge furigana so you can actually follow them right, and the romaji already fulfill that purpose better than kanji+furigana would for us gaijin. It just clutters the screen. Drop it! |

So because I feel that to have a professional looking subbed series it requires karaoke i don't comprehend? Lets just use anidb's top 10 for example. All of then have karaoke but one group, all of them do exceptionally awsome jobs on their series, but wait i don't see triad up there... wonder why? No, to be a good group you don't need karaoke, KAA doesn't. But if they did want to give readers a better experience they could add it. Its not a hard concept. You could say i review on a scale based on subbing guidelines. audio video translation karaoke extras Lack of any is the reason i lower rating. And just because you hate karoke or you feel fans don't deserver it blah blah (i don't care) I'm not rating any different. You can take my rating and stuff it. Its not for you, its for other people who plan on watching it. Do I know if the person reading my review likes karaoke or not? No, but its that extra item that could have been added in. |

Sir, it is quite clear at this point that you can't take criticism. All I've got to say is, too bad for you. If you'll keep fansubbing you'll keep finding people who appreciate your work and you'll keep finding people who'll think your work isn't good and give you valid reasons to back that claim. Of course there're also quite idiotic guys who'll just say "you suck" for the hell of it, without a reason, but this one wasn't the case. Also the fact you addressed this whole issue on the main page and you insulted someone who gave your subs an 8, which if you ask me is still a pretty good score, with the intention of ridiculizing him, plus the way you keep handling things here in the comments, it's clear proof that you lack maturity as a person. Which is way worse than doing a sloppy job as a fansubber, fact you seem so worried about. Finally, regarding your views on the karaoke matter, I think you're wrong. People nowadays, when downloading a fansub, EXPECT to find a karaoke, the simple fact you're not giving them one, automatically decreases the quality of the sub. Because in the end you make subs FOR the people, a sub is good when someone gets what he wants from it and is pleased by it. Of course having a karaoke is not the most important part by far, that doesn't change the fact that it IS a part of a fansub, put it however you like, but not having it DO decreases the overall enjoyment and the overall quality. |
