On the topic of an unrelated series, a new group released the first ep of Haruhi Suzumiya where originally only a.f.k. had been working on it. I don't really care that another group started working on it -- what I care about are the goddamn leechers.
The most common discussion I've seen on this new group: Awesome, I hope they catch up to the current episode so they can release faster than a.f.k.

Now it's pretty popular among the anime circles, and yet this poor excuse for an animated feature is the worst thing ever produced by a human being if you except Plan 9 from Outer Space, and I'm being generous. First you gotta admit you hated the first episode. It made no sense, sucked as shit, wasn't funny, edgy or new. Or original. Animation sucked dead dogs' balls. Characters sucked dead dogs' balls. Voice actiong sucked dead dogs' balls. But you managed to make it through the whole pile of steaming poo just to see the ED. BEcause that's what this anime is about. It's about the ED. Those 1 minute and a half. There's nothing else to it. You went like "OMG ANIMATION LIEK" you freaking retards and now everyone likes it. Yet it's shit. It's complete shit with no redeeming qualities. There's fucking nothing to it. Just the dance at the end. It's a dancing anime. A fucking retarded danxcing anime with no story and nothing and no characters it sucks. You shouldn't like it you morons seriously. There are some good reasons why people might want prompt releases. First, it's nice being able to watch a show on a weekly basis. If episodes are too far apart, you start forgetting what was happening in the story. Second, once at least one group has released an episode, its contents soon stop being considered as spoilers. Nobody considers discussing Higurashi episode 4 to be spoiling when most of 4chan has already watched episode 6. But, having said all of that, a.f.k. have been as regular as clockwork with Haruhi; anyone who isn't satisfied with that is truly an Impatient Bitch. Actually, I suspect that a.f.k. are making a rod for their own backs by being so reliable. If an episode doesn't come out on a Tuesday, there's likely to be a couple of thousand impatient bitches storming their IRC channel with pitchforks and torches. |

I've been downloading a lot of shows for years now, and I don't mind waiting a bit. I consider anthing less than two weeks good time, and less than a month is alright. When it comes to several months per episode though (usually only one group working on such a show) I get sick of it. Lunar's handling of Uta Kata is a prime example (there was another group but they were D grade at best), and then there is Gakuen Alice. While I appeciate Drago's work on it, its too long to wait for someone who was enjoying the show. I say thanks Triad for your reasonably fast (I don't watch Ryu Knight :P) high quality work. |

I ususally don't post on forums unless I have something important to say. And right now, I do. First of all, I want to thank you, The Triad, for your contributions as a fansub group. I think everyone in the anime community should be thankful, period, to have the chance to see these shows before they come to the states. People need to realize that being able to see these fansubs is a privilege, not a right. It's only because of fansub groups and, when the shows later become licensed, U.S. anime distribution companies that fans are able to see these shows at all. As fans, sure we have some say and input as to what we think is wrong, right, liked, disliked, and so on. But to whine, moan, and bitch when things don't go our way is not the answer. I'm not a part of any fansub group but, if I were, I would be pissed off that a bunch of ungrateful whiners are saying things like, and I quote LordBrian's quote, "Awesome, I hope they catch up to the current episode so they can release faster than a.f.k". What a rude comment. Comments like this should not be coming from people who are contributing nothing to the fansubbing and release process. If anything, the fansub groups should be thanked for putting their time and effort towards bringing these shows to the masses. I'm sorry if I sound really mean. It's just that whenever I read these types of comments in forums, (and there are A LOT of these types of comments), it really pisses me off. "What gives these people the right to say things like this?", I think to myself. And you know what the answer is? NOT A DAMN THING! Use common sense people. These fansub groups are made up of people. People with LIVES TO LIVE and FEELINGS. Although, I'm pretty sure the some of these groups, like the members of Triad, couldn't give a shit about the feelings of whiney, ungrateful, and leaching bitches. The point is, we all have lives (more than some of us anyway, I hope) and you the people who bring us the anime we love to watch, whether they be fansub groups or U.S. anime distribution companies, need to be shown respect, consideration, and PATIENCE. Now, if none of the bad qualities I pointed out don't apply to you, that's great! I'm really happy you are mature enough to understand these things and keep supporting these groups the best way you can. But if you find that I have struck a cord within you with the points I have made because you have actually made ungrateful, unthoughful, and sometimes rude comments similar to the one I mentioned in the first paragraph, then hey, you know who you are and I have nothing more to say about it. This type of thing and these types of comments (unfortunately) come with the territory. Fansub groups get them all the time as well as U.S. anime distribution companies like ADV Films, GENEON, Funimation, and Synch-Point. And to LordBrian and the rest of Triad group, try not let the insensitive bullshit comments of the few cause you to become jaded in any way. I hope you all keep the same passion that you put into your releases. With anything in life, if you want something of quility, patience is required. There are still a lot of devoted fans out there that understand this and also understand that life comes first. To all of the Triand members, take care. |

I think the real point is being missed here, and it is this: Fansubbing is (in effect) the process of brining something to US audiences which otherwise might take <b>years</b> to get here, if at all. Add to that the fact that fansubbing is <i>universally</i> done on a volunteer basis and is brought to the viewer at absolutely no charge beyond what he or she might pay for an ISP. For <b><i>any</i></b> end user to complain that releases aren't coming out fast enough is not only impatient, but arrogant and pompous as well. To all you fan-boys and -girls out there who feel "entitled" to fansubs: fuck you. Seriously, <b><i>fuck you</i></b>. Fansubs are a privilege to the anime fan, and the people who take time out of their schedules to produce them should be thanked, not pestered. |

I just want to say Ive been watching Akagi from the start since you released the first episode and yeah its been a while getting to where we are now but DAMN youre doing a fucking a good job screw all the asshats that say different! Education and life comes before fansubbing its a painful process to sub anime people dont have a clue they think its easy to just recode/translate etc. but Triad hats off to you all Akagi is a fucking awesome series with perfect translation and the added description of mah jong rules etc and Ill wait aslong as it takes you to sub it.
