Karaoke is not a "requirement" in anime. So hard for people to understand that since most who complain are prolly little 13 year olds who have no life and when they are watching each ep they sing along to the song every time they watch an episode. The only time I think that Karaoke is NEEDED is those one special moment in every anime series where they have a grand finale with an special insert song (i.e. Blaze Phoenix of nanoha), the OP/ED of the FIRST EPISODE or the first episode of new op/ed themes since some animes change their op/ed in the middle of the series also, and last the ending credits of the last episode (usually of they change it from the normal ED and have something special). However it is NEVER "REQUIRED" in any anime episode at all. I mean after the first episode, every episode I watch i after i dont even pay attention to the op/ed anymore. i just skip them since i've already seen it untill they change the op/ed again. |

Doesn't change the fact that you went off on a tangent(i saw your replies which were cut off), tried to make a convenient excuse like "you don't have to watch it" when i said karaoke has nothing to do with understanding the anime, neither does learning how to pronounce the words. And i wasn't even talking about how i judge fansubs, it was with respect to the other user's comment on what karaoke has to do with the anime. If you judge the overall fansub, then good for you, but that had nothing to do with what was being discussed. I never even said karaoke itself was a flaw, just the flaw in using that when you rate a group's fansub and then other groups are brought into comparison when they do a poorer job on everything else but could be given the same rating because of your 1/10 for "devotion". I believe that is what Kanna is trying to point out. If you're going to include karaoke just because other groups do it, then suppose other groups plug their own web site through a short video sequence in the fansub(like Wannabefansub's ep 1 of School Rumble), then i suppose by your logic you're going to judge that too. Regardless it's amazing how wrote a reply that had irrelevant points, and now that the comments were cut off, you turn back and just say i took your comments too literally, which is through your own fault for being unable to write your own thoughts down. Or perhaps now you seen that your comments were cut off you thought you could say that as an excuse considering that you actually replied before >_> |

No, before i missed that comment of yours. (talking with this strange setup isn't easy esp with no names lol) Anyway as I was saying if I felt the fansub wasn't good enough i would ignore the fact that they did or didn't have karaoke. No it was shitty sub. I gave it a 4. Our group has dropped Karaoke too. Opening looks much nicer now. I personally skip intros after first watching. I think the only opening I watched every single time was from Popotan. And that was not because of the Karaoke. It was because of the great song and cute animation. There is absolutely no sense in doing stupid Karaoke effects, the time is far better used in making the subtitles better readable or creating AMVs. I feel sorry for people who really believe Karaoke is a neccesity. Streicher |
