Kaiji 18 is now out.
We'll see a certain character get (almost) royally fucked over so that ought to be fun for most of you.
Edit: By the way, there is a translation error at 15:55. Where it says "second" is actually "first." I guess we would have caught it before the release if we sat on it for a few more days.

since tonegawa knows if he dealt the money card, then why not deal them when tonegawa deals first so he can't read anything? |

4780, because he would know that. If I was Kaiji, I would think logically as he does, become 100% confident what card Tonegawa is going to play, and then act in a way that denies all logic and reason. 4782: I bet 2.5 cm |

What does the 'E' in E-Card stand for anyways? I'm guessing Kaiji will continue to lose, then say "Fuck it" on the last round, bet 10mm and magically win somehow. |

Kaiji always manages to escape unscathed, but he always walks out further in debt. I bet 10mm that Tonegawa will screw Kaiji out of little earned money after the game ends. |

E is for Ear and Eye. E is for Emperor. I think they explained what it was in the episode but I forgot. I predict kaiji will just escape in this round and then challenge the old 'Drill, Drill, Drill' man to E-card and win. |

>>4811 He will probably come up with some master plan that would've had no chance of working in reality. Also, I heard some people saying that
Kaiji's missing an ear in the OP or ED, so it's possible that he rips off his ear.
|

Perhaps Tonegawa is seeing Kaiji's cards via the reflection in Kaiji's eyes, which would further explain the stipulation that Kaiji must look hard at each card before throw down, aside from the 'psychological battle' reason. As before, there will probably be a loophole overlooked by Kaiji as in previous games. In order to get out of deep shit, Kaiji may opt to ask for millimeters in lieu of money for the next round just to gain some breathing space. Barring all that shit - maybe ghosts of the dead beam-walkers will come to his aid. Or maybe I'm just reaching...yep, that's it. |

>>4820 There's no "reflection in his eyes" bullshit going on. It's purely psychological. Fukomoto doesn't seem the type of writer to do that shit, for one thing. Also, it is possible to tell how people will act according to their movements and such. It requires very keen observational skills, like Tonegawa said, but it is possible. It's been done in a ton of other series, too. >>4812 I just watched the opening and ending closely, and Kaiji is not missing an ear in either one. There's nothing even remotely close. The only thing in there is a half-second shot of Kaiji with the scar on his left cheek in the ending. Also, having seen manga scans, I know for a fact that Kaiji's ear is still there after E-Card. Not sure about his hearing though . . . Check out the Triad cards at the very end of episodes 1 and 2 though. One of them has something very interesting. :) |

Yeah, like I said about the eye reflection - I was reaching. Yes, in cards everyone always has a 'tell' or two. In Tonegawa's case, it may be his fiddle-fucking with his watch... |
