So apparently it's finally my turn to write. Well, I could've avoided it if I timed GSG, but I picked the lesser of two evils. It's too bad there's no good copypasta, because I'm sure you all hate me talking about random stuff, like how I came home from work and how this month's server bill is $420 and I can't pay it. Expect some downtime for a year or two while I gamble my left ear and get mindfucked by some homo with a Sitizon watch.
By the way, like Air 13 we aren't going to sub Kaiji 26 because, you know, we have to keep our record consistent. That and the distro server will get raided for hosting too much of my loli.
Size: 244053053 | CRC: Does anyone actually use this anymore? F52C1169
By the way, I saw on 4chan the other day that some Anonymous was willing to pay $20 for 13 eps of bad Akagi subs. I'm thinking we should pull the Akagi and Kaiji torrents and sell you guys a Fukumoto Superpak for $80. If comments are positive I'll start doing that after ep 25 airs, because 26 will never be out anyway...

noooo!!!! Serious disfigurement, and scary ass stuff lays ahead for anyone who hasn't watched this yet! But on to the real reason for my comment... Triad is awesome, and I love their Kaiji subs. I also just finished Akagi, albeit very very late, as I hadn't heard about it until now, and I very much liked it. Strangely, though, I actually knew how to play Mahjohng before I started watching. |

> 5814 Me too. I always thought Mahjong looked kinda stupid from what little I knew about it. Then I tried Akagi because I liked Kaiji, and I was hooked as soon as the cool music started playing :) Akagi is my favorite anime. Makes me want to play Mahjong but I can't be fucked learning the 10 billion scoring rules. eg. If you are the east and you don't call on any other players tiles and you have the chuns and the time is 12:27 and you just ate some cake then you get 18000 points.. |

>5198 It's not hard once you get the hang of it, but the guy does have a good point about the scoring hands. There are a million fucking different hands, and they each have their own name and score calculation . . . or so it seems to someone who wasn't raised in a mahjong parlor. Thank God there's electronic mahjong, to help us learn some of the shit. |

> 5198 Thanks for the links. That is by far the best explanation of mahjong I have seen. The other ones I had looked at were like 30 pages or so and my brain shuts down upon looking at them. I've been playing a bit online. It's good practice. The time limit is harsh, but I'm definitely improving. The thing I find hard is, its not enough to just know the hands, you have to be able to quickly decide which of the many hands you want to go for, or even decide how to keep as many good hands as possible open. I suppose learning bit by bit is the key eh. |

Mahjong is easy. There are indeed many variation of Mah Jong, BUT! For all Mahjong, it's almost 90% the same. Although the 10% is just a little rules difference. Although it's very important to know, but once you know how to play Mahjong, you should be able to play all variation with ease. Also, scoring system is very easy, just learn the basic, the special hands needs to be memorized and they are also easy to remember. |

Nobody in their right mind would pick the eye poker though. Maybe Akagi would. Haha. Hypothetically speaking, if Kaiji chose the eye poker... he'd probably faint from the stress of a sharp pointy thing coming right at his eye. |

fukumoto animu has good rewatch value
I just rewatched Kaiji 1-20 and it was still as good as when I saw it before. Now I'm rewatching Akagi and I appreciate it more than I did the first time. It was mostly since I watched it in a sleep-deprived state without any knowledge of mahjong. But being wide awake allows me to pay closer attention which does wonders for my enjoyability of the show. /blog |

Does Triad always release at night? It seems like episodes are always put up after 9pm. If that's the case, then I don't have to check every five minutes during the day. That'd save me a lot of hassle. |
