I watched all of Shakugan no Shana, and I agree it was a good show, but I just think that Zero's familiar was a better one. I enjoyed watching it more. Not to mention it had more of a story than Shakugan no Shana. Shana's story is mainly "who will get Yuuji?" with a little bit of evil guys attacking for some cliche reason on the side. Zero no tsukaima, it had war, and politics, and French people, and betrayal, and DEPTH. How does that not beat out some loli with red hair and a sword? Not to mention that Del was far cooler than any of the talkinf items in Shakugan no Shana.

Warning contiunues OT: Shana, on the other hand had a fairly good storyline. There was al little too much of the love triangle, but it was ok. Shana wasn't based on fanservice but on the sentimental school commedy instead. That was a better choiche in my opinion. We can argue the two series didn't provide proper endings, so that we must wait another serie for further developments. But we can expect from Zero no Tsukaima if not only more fanservice? That is looser.

Every time you import an anime DVD you are carefully fucking with the anime market in your own country. I can imagine that in many cases that's not really a problem because there is no domestic anime market. However, the UK has a growing domestically released anime market, but does not yet have prices as low as the US (I know, I know, but if you lived here you'd be paying more in pounds than what you pay in dollars there). I don't want to screw up the domestic market, so I don't import. Fansubs until UK release is the rule I work by.

Then the obvious answer is to go ask a UK group to finish the series.

I don't get why a company licenses a series a full year before they even work on it. It's only 13 fuckin episodes...meh, time to go watch the raw episodes and guess what they're saying. Either that or watch people bitch about Bleach getting licensed.

Are you an idiot? There are no rules in the "fansub world." The reason people drop shows when they get licensed is purely legal - if the company that owns the license wanted to, they could sue the fansub group and bankrupt every member and maybe get them some jail time.

actualy no. Fansubers cant get sued. Noone can sue somone for translating some stuff. Spreading movie itself would be illegal tou but fansubers may not it, just release fansub in srt form. Another matter is that fasnubers tend to respect anime releaser's and and stop doing fasnub so ppl pay for their work(not that I agree how triad did in this case)

Fansub was born not to be piracy, but to let culture spread beyond cultural differences. Volunteers, translating stuff from japanese to english made avaible a new culture to western audience that barely knew something about it.

Being born as a "promotion", this golden rule was adopted. That is cease any activity and distribution as soon as a how is licensed. That means when a localized version of the show was to be distributed in your country, fansub shouldn't be necessary anymore and should stop.

So the rule isn't a law, but a well behaved principle of conduction. It's something a fansuber may adopt or not. But not adopting that means you're no longer a fansubber, but a pirate. That is :)

Fansubber that keep on fansubbing a show may not even be American. The show wasn't licensed elsewere yet (as far as i know) so there may be still someone on Earth who could need localizzed fansub.

Joining the Shana VS Zero discussion and Zero was by far better. The Zero was by far better the whole 2nd season of Shana was "Shana!"..."Yuji"..."Shana!"..."Yuji"..."Shana!"..."Yuji"...it was so annoying. No story and char geting stupid after every episode. Yuji has gone through somu ch shit and still was returd the same goes for Shana, I mean I know Tsundare, but does she has to be that stupid at least Luise learned. No comparison for me and Zero no Tsukaima is geting the 3rd season
