In this episode, Masochistic Elvis and life on the farm.

For those with video playback problems, I suggest updating your ffdshow or mplayer.

New CCCP release plays nicely with the new x264 build.
Get it here.

Size: 146456792
CRC: fcec055f
MD5: f7ad5f64fca2527240abd4b9835738b9

UPDATE: The video problem is caused by a bug in the older ffdshow/ffmpeg decoders. Right now we suggest updating to the newest version of CCCP if you're on Windows or grabbing the latest SVN source for mplayer if you are using Linux.

Mac people: Supposedly MPlayerOSX works fine. Link: http://mplayerosx.sttz.ch/, also reported as good is http://perian.org/

Attitude...

feels kind of weird.

Use latest latest tech that breaks the latest official CCCP which is recommended by 99% of all subbers/encoders, and then call people retards when they ask about why things are not working. Neat.

(And for the VLC fans: no, the latest VLC does not play it properly on XP at least, although it look somewhat better.)

And there is obviously something different or wrong if ep. 1 - 4 all played fine and now episode 5 doesn't work.

I truly prefer triad subs over Huzzah and Scums.

How about you whiners start to update your codecs and player every, let's say, 6 months or so?

Oh yeah, stop relying on stupid "codec packs" which are utterly useless and, like in this case, cause more problems than they solve.

The video is fine. Subtitles are fine. Update your fucking codecs noob bitches and stop crying.

Jesus. It's amazing how people jump ship as soon as they encounter one freaking speed bump.

Hey its a free market here on the internet. If you prefer somebody elses subs, just take theirs. Just don't bitch about the quality of someones volunteer efforts on your way out the door. It's amazing Triad does the work they do despite whining cocksuckers like youselves always trying to crap them out.

Keep up the good work Triad!

I don't get why some people are so uppity and aggressive here?

The encoders used some too new/specific setting, just a honest accident which occassionally happens. Just reissue a v2 that'll work on most configs. No shame in doing that, so no need to defend Triad. Nobody's besmirching their fansubbing prowress, or jumping ship - we just want a video that will work on 99% of computers instead of one that'll just work on 1%.

Making sure it works with either mplayer or VLC is a simple test.

People can't always keep their ffdshow ultra up-to-date, and there are also those who don't have the possibility of using ffdshow (linux&mac people)

Try being more civil so we can work out the problem together, ok?

Thankfully you're more levelheaded than most people, but v2 isn't going to happen. Triad subs for themselves, like all subbers should. If the file was truly broken, v2 probably. But it isn't. It plays fine for them and it plays fine for anyone that updates their codecs. Sounds good enough to me.

What's with the loads of bitches with a sense of entitlement?

If you're still running a pII box, you'd probably bitch about the video being choppy.

Is triad supposed to buy you a new computer, too?

Fuck, the goddamn codec is free. Get off your lazy asses.

Piercing through playback errors!

Fear not, fellow CCCP using viewers. I shall provide the quick and easy solution to this problem.

http://www.cccp-project.net/beta/Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-RC2-2008-09-20.exe

Unfortunately, the best thing for CCCP users is to uninstall the official version and then install this RC2. It may still be a beta, but it is sure to fix any and all problems relating to the codec being outdated (which most, if not all of them, are). If installing the new ffdshow over the old one didn't work for you (like it didn't for me), then this remedy is for you. If you're one of the people who don't use a codec pack, then this is when you should start.

Remember this: This codec pack rips holes through the fansubbing community. Those holes will become the paths for those who use it. The wishes of the butthurt and the hopes of everyone who downloads; with those two thoughts, with 20 codecs weaved in, we'll carve the path to tomorrow! That is Combined Community. That is Codec Pack! Their codecs are the codecs that pierce the playback errors!

Confirming 8748's method. It worked for me.

Or download CCCP (1-24-08), disable H.264 in settings, and install coreavc 1.8.

Uninstall VLC, Realplayer, Quicktime, and all those shitty media players. Install Quicktime and Real Alternative for good measure.

Update? Not really.

Installing the latest version of ffdshow-tryouts doesn't help. The latest release is based on revision 2033. What's needed is something newer like a snapshot of revision 2135. I suggest to clarify this important detail a little bit.

These builds can be found over here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=173941&package_id=199416

Requiring unstable alpha decoders isn't really a good idea though. Most people have the rather stable beta builds installed since those are linked from the ffdshow-tryouts homepage.

ffshow video decoder

ffdshow tryouts revision 1355 Jan 18 2008 19:08:04 (msvc 2003, x86, unicode)

That's the version I have, which seems significantly older than the ones people are trying here, yet I can play the video just fine. Any explanation?

On Mac OS X, the latest VLC plays better than Perian or MPlayer, but still has issues that make it almost unwatchable. We don't have many other options. The encode is not borked for everyone, but it's clearly borked for enough that a re-encode would be greatly appreciated.

Bow down to your new leader Japan

Dunno if you guys are aware, but recently, "Rozen" Aso Taro is poised to become the next Prime Minister of Japan within a few days.

He's apparently a fan of Rozen Maiden and enjoys fapping to doujinshi in his spare time. It's unknown how his ministry will effect this precious hobby of ours we enjoy pirating.

He's apparently in support of having diplomatic talks with foreign governments about the abundance of piracy of Japan's major export which are animu & mango. Maybe we might see people get criminal sentences and shit now.

Glad to see that it's not just me that's having a problem. I won't be installing windows to watch this, but I have access to a windows box at work, and will see about doing a repack or something later, if I can manage to get this to decode. I'm not going to have a whole lot of time though, so it may be a while. I, and I'm sure many others would be appreciative if Triad could do a quick re-encode and save the fanbase the work.
