These are the notes found at the beginning of Sensei no Ojikan 01:

- The Japanese term Iincho refers to a student representative in charge of a class. They take care of any duties the teacher may ask of them, and let the students know of important agenda items coming up.
- Kouhai is the opposite of Senpai. One's junior.
- A <compress is a soft pad of gauze or other material applied with pressure to a part of the body to control hemorrhage or to supply heat, cold, moisture, or medication to alleviate pain or reduce infection.
- Oyaj is a Japanese term which normally refers to one's older father, or an old man. You may hear it in anime a lot, but if you were to actually call someone's or your own father an oyaji, it's normally considered to be a great insult.
- The King Game is a fairly simple game where everyone picks a stick with numbers or a crown on the bottom. Whoever gets the crown becomes the King and can command two numbers to do something. The people who have those numbers must do what the King commands.
- SNAP’s Koro-chan is a parody on the Japanese boy-band, SMAP (Sports Music Assemble People). They have five members and are often flocked by crazy fangirls. Furthermore, one of the members of SMAP is named Inagaki Goro, or as a fangirl would say Goro-chan.
- A splatter maniac is someone obsessed with bloody, gore-filled, horror movies.
- Boke and Tsukkomi describe the roles that can be taken by two people in a relationship. The boke is the person who will occasionally say stupid things, or make silly mistakes. The tsukkomi is then the character who catches these mistakes and dishes out explosive yet warm-hearted punishment to the boke. Often, the punishment that the 'boke' delivers includes a smack to the back of the head.
- A 2-D otaku is an obsessive person who gets off more on 2-D images, like manga and 4chn images, rather than 3-D things, like moving people.
