Dogtato-kun exists in a world filled with many, many half veggie/half animal friends. In translating this show, we decided to translate the names so people would actually understand what the hell they were looking at. Sometimes the names sound okay in English, sometimes they don't. Puns only translate so well from Japanese to English. Anyway, in these translator notes, we'll be explaining the names of the characters.

Dogtato-kun = Jagainu-kun = Jagaimo (potato) + Inu (dog)

Hedgetato = Haripoteto = Harinezumi (hedgehog) + Poteto (potato)

Croconion = Negiwani = Negi (green onion) + Wani (crocodile)

Cucumbird = Kyuuribaado = Kyuuri (cucumber) + Baado (bird)

Mushribbit (those little brown things that appeared when it rained) = Shiitakero = Shiitake (mushrooms) + Kero (the sound frogs make in Japan, or just ribbit)
