16:50 - Yay for forced engrish. While "make base" may sound like "Macbeth" as pronounced in Japanese, it still doesn't make much sense. A more proper translation of the characters in Shigeki's name would be something like "to build a foundation" -- which, unfortunately for the Japanese, can't be forced into some meaningless reference to Shakespeare.

17:30 - Sukawara is saying a Japanese proverb here. Literally, it means "directly ahead is complete darkness," which is used to mean "no one knows what the future holds."
